Question by bulldog5054: how do you eliminate feedback/buzzing coming from the pickups on the guitar?
I have an old gibson les paul and the pickups (especially the back one) cause a lot of buzzing. The buzzing can be eliminated if i touch any metal related to the pickups, such as the metal on the cord going into the guitar. I dont understand what is happening, so i dont know how to solve the issue.

It sounds like you have a ground problem. You should get a new cord first and if that doesn’t fix the buzz you need to take the guitar to a good tech and get it checked out
What do you think? Answer below!

you have what is called ” pour shield ground” the connector to the guitar, when you move it makes the contact to ground so it works, but when it moves it does not,, replace connector on guitar. they do go bad from time to time, when you do allot of movement or jumping, it wears on that connector.
also, you could have the sensitivity on the amplifier, too high, or the speaker is facing the guitar, that will also give you feed back,,
hope this helps you
