Best answer:

Answer by Victoria
There is a switch on the front of the guitar, usually down near the bottom by the volume control, which you toggle to change from the bridge pickup to the neck pickup and vice versa.

What do you think? Answer below!

This is very cool news. ArtistWorks have developed a great platform for online teaching, I previously posted about Jazz guitarist Martin Taylor’s ArtistWorks site, the best feature being their Video Exchange feature which is explained below. Now ArtistWorks have developed a new site with Paul Gilbert http://www.artistworks.com/paul-gilbert, watch the video above for an explanation from Paul himself due to launch very soon. Subscription fees are $ 90 for three months, $ 150 for six months and $ 240 for 12 months which in my opinion is great value.

Now anyone can learn all out rock guitar from the guy all the other guitar virtuosos call the best, Paul Gilbert. ArtistWork’s Video Exchange Accelerated Learning Platform streams Paul’s entire lesson list to you – beginner to advanced. Anytime you get stuck or need help, fire up your phone or webcam and show Paul what you’re doing so he can give you personalized feedback. It’s the easiest, most convenient way to learn blistering rock guitar online and become the player you’ve always wanted to be.

“With Video Exchange™, learning music online includes getting a video response from an experienced teacher. Players can ask questions and show their instructor where they are struggling by sending in a video. In turn, they will receive a Video Response from their teacher who gives them guidance on what to work on next in order to improve. Unlike typical video chat, you don’t have to be in the same time zone as your online teacher and you can work on your video before you upload it. No prior experience or minimum skill level is required. Students not only benefit from their own exchanges, but can see everyone’s Video Exchange with the teacher as an ever expanding resource for everyone to learn from. You can watch all the videos on your iPad too.”

Check out this little preview of the new Coyote 20 Amplifier by Wampler Pedals.

Inspried by the old “Brownface Deluxe”, 6v6 with mercury magnetics tranformers, this amp will deliver the often sought after tone that only seemed to exist years ago – the time before the these great amps changed identity, when tone was all that mattered.

The warmth of the tone is the main atttraction of this amp, it’s less bright then the newer “Blackface” tones, less aggressive. It just loves dirt pedals to sit in front of it (well it would have to really considering who designed it!), we’ve put in a serial passive effects loop as well, to ensure it is as useable as possible.

The combo and the cabs are loaded with a Warehouse Guitar Speakers “Reaper”, The cabs come with either a 1×12″ or 2×12″, combo is 1×12″ only. The response from this amp, with these speakers will be like no other unit currently available.

Back in 2010 I reviewed the self-titled debut album from Swedish Metal band Feared which I summed up as “…technical guitar playing by the bucketload with infectious grooves and a solid rhythm section backing up the riffs”. Since then I have been singing Feared guitarist Ola Englund’s praises as he continues to blow everyone away with his amazing amp demos on YouTube and more recently his signature Strictly7 guitar the Solar6 7,8 and 9. Well it took me a while to catch on to Feared and it was actually recorded back in 2007 and mighty fine it sounds too, but Ola has spent so much time recording guitars that he decided he wanted to re-track all of the guitar parts again and get the album re-mixed.

Whilst recording the new parts Ola also managed to get a couple of guest shredders in on the action, first up the bearded tapologist Fred Brum who lays down a killer solo on ‘Our Dying World‘ check out the video of Fred performing the solo below:

Next up is the incredibly talented guitarist and guitar teacher from the band Threat Signal, you can check out Chris’ solo from the track ‘Fall Of Man‘ below and enjoy a full play through from Ola while you are at it!

Refeared 2012 is available in 2 versions from the Feared website, you can either get the straight up digital download for €13.00 or you can go for the Deluxe Edition which for €40.00 gets you the following:

- Signed CD-version of the Feared – Refeared album
- Digital version of Feared – Refeared

A DVD including:

- Feared Stems(audio files separated) for all songs
- RAW tracks. Mix the songs from scratch!
- Mastering notes and pictures
- Guitar DI files for all songs
- Drum MIDI for all songs
- Superior 2.0 Feared preset used for the album(Requires Superior 2.0 and SDX Metal Heads)
- Kemper Profiles used on album + all other Ola profiles
- Axe Fx 2 Ola banks(not used on album)
- Pod HD Pro patches(not used on album)
- Ola Englund signature pick

If you are into recording you will agree that this is a mighty fine bundle of goodies from a master of recording that you never see guitarists give away, if you own either the Kemper, Axe or Pod HD Pro you will get some audio brutality from your rig with these patches.

This looks really cool especially the effects loop that allows you to put other effects, such as the tremelo in the demo video below, on the wet signal while retaining the dry signal. This pedal seems to excel when used in conjunction with other effects such as Delay or Reverb to give the sound extra ambience.

Press Release
EHX’s new Superego Synth Engine can capture and hold notes or chords, perform fluid glissandos and create oscillator like synthesizer effects. It enables the player to stack or layer sounds, create infinite sustain, even tweak attack and decay. The Superego’s effects loop also lets a musician insert effects into the wet signal.

Although quite powerful, the SuperEgo has a simple control layout. The Speed control adjusts the attack and decay rate, creating everything from short to infinitely sustained sounds. It doubles as a level control for layers in Latch mode. The Gliss knob adjusts the glissando or glide speed between notes and chords. The Dry and Effect knobs are level controls.

The one-of-a-kind pedal also features three modes controlled by a mini toggle switch: Auto, Momentary and Latch. In Auto mode, the Superego captures and freezes a note or chord and holds it until the next note or chord is played. In Momentary mode, a note or chord is captured as the footswitch is depressed and released when it is released. Latch mode enables the player to layer or stack sounds.

The new Superego Synth Engine pedal, set for a Mid-May release, is housed in a solid die-cast package, is equipped with a standard 9.6-Volt/DC200mA AC adapter.
